“Leo is a therapy dog in training for a therapist in Louisville. One client told me today that the addition of Leo to the practice is “special”, and that he helps her to feel more relaxed and at ease. His presence seems to offer an environment conducive to warmth and trust.I have a neat story from this week. Leo was very nurturing toward a robin that accidentally hit our window. He tried to nudge it to fly, and watched patiently as the bird nodded it’s head, nearing unconsciousness. He kept checking on the bird , even after it died, he went back outside to check, whimpering to go outside. He is very nurturing and I feel very fortunate to have him in the clinical practice, for his presence also has a calming influence on many of my patients.”
